WATCH: Little Big Town Drops Music Video For "Rich Man" Featuring Charles Esten

Karen Fairchild: "'Rich Man' tells the story of how the deep roots of family ground us and give us the space to flourish and become who we are meant to be."

Little Big Town puts "wealth" into perspective.

The GRAMMY Award-winning country quartette recently released (Dec. 16) an eye-opening music video for their heartfelt ballad, "Rich Man." The band comprised of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook, called in critically acclaimed actor and country singer Charles Esten to serve as a father in their moving visual.

"Rich Man" lives on Little Big Town's 10th studio album, "Mr. Sun." The 16-song tracklist includes fan favorites – "Hell Yeah," "All Summer," "Heaven Had A Dance Floor," "Last Day On Earth," and more. The standout single differs from the rest, as Westbrook spent nearly a decade writing the poignant lyrics.

"'Rich Man' has a special place in my heart, and I've been touched by the response it's gotten from the record and playing it on the road," shared Westbrook. "We wanted the video to show the love of family, and love of a father. This song makes me think of my own dad, and I wanted to honor that as well as the heart I have for my son."

The state-of-the-art music video begins with Esten appreciating a hand-painted picture that his children made for Father's Day. Following the intimate scene, the clip jumps to precious moments with his two kids and displays how fast time flies. As Esten counts his blessings, he recognizes that money can't buy happiness and that he has the whole world in the palm of his hand.

As the timeless tune touches upon the importance of family, it is also a friendly nod to hardworking fathers. The clip beautifully follows a father-son relationship, but ends with an unexpected twist – Westbrook as the little boy all grown-up at his dad's funeral.

Intertwined with the captivating narrative, Little Big Town performs the soul-touching track. Westbrook jumps on the first verse, displaying his buttery baritone vocals. It's not until the chorus that the others effortlessly join in, creating their signature harmonies.

Westbrook said working alongside the "Nashville" actor was pleasurable and enjoyable.

"Making this with Charles, the other actors, and of course Karen, Kimberly, and Phillip, was really a labor of love," he shared. "'Rich Man' tells the story of how the deep roots of family ground us and give us the space to flourish and become who we are meant to be. True wealth is the story of this song," added Fairchild.

The tear-jerking video destined to tug at heartstrings, was produced and captured by Running Bear Films in Nashville, TN.

The platinum-selling performers previously dropped a live version of "Three Whiskeys And The Truth," which they recorded at music city's legendary Sound Emporium Studios. Come May 2023, Little Big Town will hit the road for a string of shows. For upcoming appearances and tickets, visit littlebigtown.com
