Chely Wright Exits Vivaton Records

Chely Wright and Vivaton Records have parted company just five months after announcing that she had joined the independent label's artist roster. In a joint statement released Thursday (June 24), Wright and Vivaton president and CEO Jeff Huskins attributed the split to "creative differences." Huskins is a former member of Little Texas. Wright's "In the Back of the Bottom Drawer" was the label's first single. An album had originally been set for release in August. While recording for MCA Nashville, Wright reached No. 1 in 1999 with "Single White Female."
