Abbey Cone Wanted To Bring "Big Main Character Energy" to New Video for "If You Were A Song"

Abbey Cone: "I hope everyone who watches this video feels like they're seeing the most authentic version of me to date."

Independent country singer Abbey Cone is all powerhouse femininity as she struts through Music City wearing a bikini top and a fur coat in her new music video for "If You Were a Song."

Cone penned the catchy, up-tempo love song with Nathan Spicer and Nate Cyphert and produced the track alongside Spicer. She co-produced and co-directed the video with Midtown Motion.

"I feel like (the video) captures the cinematic feeling of the song really well and gives big 'main character energy,' which was the vibe I wanted to bring for my first single release and music video as an independent artist," she said. "It was really awesome getting to co-direct the video with Midtown Motion, they really let me lead the vision, and we worked together really closely from ideation, filming and editing."

At one point in the video, Cone pulls a white button-up over her bikini top and rides through Music Row, sitting in the sunroof of the truck. It's her favorite part of the clip.

"Robby was filming from the truck bed, and two people in the truck are holding my legs so I didn't fall out," she said.

She believes the vibey video represents her artistry perfectly.

"I hope everyone who watches this video feels like they're seeing the most authentic version of me to date and has a more genuine connection to the song because of that," she said. "This rocks. This is the most me (stuff) I have ever done. Can I say that?"
