Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift Booked for Louisiana Music Festival

Bayou Country Superfest Set for May 29-30 at LSU's Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge

Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and Brooks & Dunn will perform at the Bayou Country Superfest taking place next year in Baton Rouge, La., at Tiger Stadium on the Louisiana State University campus.

Scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, the lineup on May 29 will include Swift, Urban, Kellie Pickler, David Nail and Gloriana. Chesney will headline the May 30 concert that also features Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Jake Owen and Justin Moore. The event is being produced by Quint Davis, who also produces the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Tickets go on sale Nov. 5 via Ticketmaster.

According to The Times-Picayune newspaper in New Orleans, reserved seat field-level tickets are priced at $85-$125 per day with reserved seats in the bleachers priced at $40-$125. Two-day ticket packages will be offered at a discounted price. The newspaper reports the festival will also offer "Golden Horseshoe" tickets, starting at $250 per day, that provides access to a VIP standing-room-only area near the stage.

In addition to the Baton Rouge festival, Chesney will appear at 2010 BamaJam taking place June 3-5 near Enterprise, Ala. He recently announced he would not launch a major tour in 2010, but he says he mainly wanted to avoid spending several months planning the stage production and logistics of his own tour.

"I honestly don't think people realize how much work goes into one of our tours," Chesney said in a written statement. He added, "I can't imagine a year not rocking the fans ... not seeing those faces or hearing my songs sung back to me. ... For us to be able to get out there and rock at a few of these festivals, it means we can do the big show people expect without having to put six months into getting ready for it."

With the depressed economy, several other large country music festivals have attracted smaller crowds in recent years. However, BamaJam and the Stagecoach festival in Indio, Calif., have emerged as major success stories. The 2010 Stagecoach event is scheduled for April 24-25. The initial lineup includes Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Sugarland, Jamey Johnson, Billy Currington, Gary Allan, Phil Vassar and Merle Haggard.
