Wanda Jackson and Elle King Take on "Riot in Cell Block #9"

Young Admirer Is All Smiles on Rockabilly Queen's Classic Song

A few weeks ago, we introduced you to new BFF's: “Ex’s and Oh’s” singer Elle King and rockabilly icon Wanda Jackson.

The two met recently in East Nashville and hit it off immediately. King, who collaborated with Dierks Bentley on “Different for Girls,” has long idolized Jackson, citing her as a massive influence. Jackson was so taken with the effervescent King that she wanted to sing with her right there on the spot.

So the two started an impromptu version of Jackson’s “Riot in Cell Block #9” right there in the middle of Fanny’s House of Music.

Oh, yes, Jackson has still got it going on, dripping in fringe and diamonds. And in all her soul and raspy rock glory, King is a perfect match.

It’s the most adorable thing you’ll see all week and proof that even big stars can still get butterflies.
