Don Williams Tapped for ASCAP's Golden Note Award

Don Williams, who landed 17 No. 1 country hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s, will receive the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award on Nov. 6 in Nashville. The award recognizes extraordinary career achievement in music and will be presented at ASCAP's annual awards show honoring the year's top country songs. Williams co-wrote several of his hits, such as "Til the Rivers All Run Dry," "Love Me Over Again" and "Lay Down Beside Me." In addition, he has recorded classic songs by Bob McDill ("It Must Be Love"), Wayland Holyfield ("Some Broken Hearts Never Mend") and Danny Flowers ("Tulsa Time"). Williams was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
