Taylor Swift Accepts Nickelodeon's Big Help Award From First Lady

Taylor Swift commended her fans for making the world a better place after first lady Michelle Obama presented her the Big Help Award at Saturday night's (March 31) Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles. Swift was recognized for her philanthropic efforts, including her contributions to youth-related charities and U.S. tornado and flood relief efforts in the U.S. In presenting the trophy, the first lady referred to the 22-year-old singer-songwriter as "someone who is going to keep making sparks fly for all of us in the years ahead." In accepting the award, Swift said, "I'm so honored. I have always wanted to meet you. This is amazing. I am so honored to be receiving this award from the first lady of the United States. I am freaking out." She told the crowd, "I'm really proud of all of you guys. I see you helping each other out. I think it's important you know you are making a difference in this world."
