Charlie Worsham Wants To Sell You The Guitar He Played on Eric Church's "Heart & Soul" Album

Charlie Worsham is selling his Frankenstein Thinline Fender that he used to record with Eric Church and played on tour with Dierks Bentley

If the musician in your life is an Eric Church or Dierks Bentley fan and has a guitar on his Christmas list – Charlie Worsham has you covered.

Worsham, who had country hits with songs including “Want Me Too,” “Could It Be” and “How I Learned to Pray,” is also one of Nashville’s most sought-after guitar players. He’s played with everyone from Old Crow Medicine Show to Eric Church, Dierks Bentley and Keith Urban.

The guitar – a Thinline Fender Telecaster – is a bit of a Frankenstein. The instrument has a ‘90s body from Japan, electronics from the ‘60s that have been dipped in wax and a ‘70s neck.

Worsham said he got it from fellow guitar shredder Jedd Hughes in 2019 when they were on tour with Vince Gill. He recently got some new musical gear, and now he needs to sell the guitar.

“Anybody need a last-minute Christmas guitar?” Worsham asked on Instagram. “I love this Frankenstein Thinline.”

He posted a video of himself playing the guitar and explaining its history. Worsham said the instrument is even approved by his son Gabe who can be heard talking in the background.

Worsham played the guitar on Church’s “Heart & Soul” album as well as on tour with Bentley in 2022.

In an email to CMT, Worsham said that early in 2020, he was in Banner Elk, North Carolina, as a part of the studio band for Church’s "Heart & Soul" album. He was excited to play his new Thinline Tele on a few of those songs, and the guitar even made an appearance or two in the behind-the-scenes YouTube videos of songs like “Hell of A View.”

"The craziest thing is that I can’t remember which songs I played that guitar on, except for the 'Twin Peaks' style electric part on 'Love Shine Down,'" Worsham wrote. "To be honest, I’m sad to part with the instrument, but I recently purchased a mandolin that had belonged to Sam Bush and had decided ahead of the purchase to sell the Tele if I bought the mandolin. Here’s hoping the guitar stays in the family as it did when it changed hands from Jedd to me."

Worsham said anyone who wants to buy the guitar should “hit me in the dms.”

Worsham’s most recent EP, “Sugarcane,” is out now and includes his song “Fist Through This Town” as well as “Believe in Love,” “For the Love,” and “Hang On To That.”
