WATCH: Cooper Alan Asks His Father To Be His Best Man In Heartwarming Unreleased Song

Cooper Alan: “Best man and best friend! Love you Pops.”

Wedding bells are in the future for TikTok sensation Cooper Alan. The “New Normal” singer will tie the knot with college sweetheart Hally Williams in September of 2023. As he continues to make power moves in the highly competitive genre, he is tirelessly getting ready for their special day.

Alan kicked the wedding planning process into gear by asking his father to stand with him as his best man at the altar. In true singer-songwriter fashion, Alan broke the heartwarming news with an unreleased song.

“I haven’t asked my dad to be my best man yet,” the fast-rising artist said on social media. “So, I wrote this song,” he added.

The sentimental video captures the father-son pair sitting in the front seat of a car. With the camera placed carefully on the dashboard, Alan recorded his dad’s pure reaction. As the mid-tempo ballad begins to play, Tim Cooper is seen grasping each weighted word. As the narrative unravels, Tim quickly realizes what his son is asking and tears swell within his eyes.

“Best Man | To shotgun a tailgate beer with | Kick back and watch the heels win | And deal with the real when it hits the fan | Best man | To go out cast a couple lines with | Sit and talk wonder where the time went | Through the thick and thin | You’ve always had my back and I know I can count on that,” he sings with his buttery baritone vocals. “When the best girl in the whole world’s up there dressed in white | Whole church packed I’m bout to have the best day of my life |Yeah you best believe that this old boy’s gonna need | My best man| Two steps to the right.”

The two sealed the deal with a whopping high-five and a warm embrace. Alan has not revealed the official title of the tear-jerking track, but it is destined to be used by grooms nationwide and become one of the top wedding songs of the year.

“Best man and best friend! Love you Pops,” Alan shared in the caption.

Upon release, the clip raked in 1M views and received an overwhelming amount of positive praise. While many pointed out their resemblance, others encouraged the vocalist to release the hit sooner than later.

“Awesome song bro!” said Restless Road. “You look just like your dad. Awesome song. Of course, I think you should record it,” gushed a follower. “This is a hit, man! 👏” added Spencer Crandall

Alan and his fiancée first got together at UNC Chapel Hill, but moved to Nashville to submerge themselves in the music industry. The two will return to their home state of North Carolina to exchange vows. Alan dropped down to one knee in May of 2022 in New York City, just outside a café they had their first date.

“Ever since our first day in NYC five years ago, I’ve been waiting for this moment. It’s always been you 💍❤️ Here’s to an incredible life together. I love you forever @halswilliams,” said Alan alongside a string of engagement photos. “Took me back to the place where we went from friends to forever – thankful for the sweetest love I’ve ever known. I can’t wait to marry you!!!!!” added his other half on her personal Instagram account.

Williams was the mastermind behind several of Alan’s spit-fire mashups, as she recorded the promising new artist in the midst of the pandemic.  The captivating clips propelled Alan into the spotlight and helped him create a loyal community of over 7.5M followers on TikTok alone. Alan proved that you could turn social recognition into an adoring fan base with buzz-worthy hits  “Tough Ones,” “First Rodeo,” and more. His clever wordplay scored him a publishing deal with songwriter-producer Victoria Shaw and an invitation to the Grand Ole Opry.

Alan has a jammed-packed schedule of show dates in the pipeline, where he will promote his latest release, “The Fridge.” For tickets and upcoming appearances, visit cooperalanmusic.com.
