Joey + Rory’s Hymns holds its perch on the summit of Billboard’s country albums chart for the second straight week. In its six weeks out, the collection has sold, by Nielsen SoundScan’s count, 220,291 copies -- 44,060 this past week alone.
Randy Houser’s Fired Up is the highest-debuting collection. It enters at No. 3 on sales of 21,471 units.
Brett Young’s “Sleep Without You” pops back onto the chart at No. 59.
As of this week, the war horses Traveller and Montevallo have sold 1,049,818 and 1,078,007 copies, respectively. Break out the platinum plaques.
I guess we can safely conclude that the onset of spring was not a big sales factor. But you can bet that sunny summer songs will be popping up like wildflowers soon.
