Taylor Swift's High School Names Auditorium in Her Honor

Taylor Swift's former high school, Henderson High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., will name its auditorium in her honor. Meeting Tuesday night (Sept. 21), the Sumner County School Board voted unanimously in favor of the name change. It will become official following the formality of second vote on Oct. 19. Swift studied at the school during her freshman and sophomore years, prior to releasing her 2006 debut album. She donated $75,000 to the school in 2009 to update the sound and lighting systems in the auditorium, where she often performed as a student. School board chairman Don Long said Swift did not request changing the auditorium's name.
