Due to the death of her father, Rosanne Cash has cancelled her appearance at Austin City Limits Music Festival taking place Friday-Sunday (Sept. 19-21) in Austin, Texas. Instead of scheduling another band to fill her performance slot, festival organizers are assembling a tribute to Johnny Cash, who died Sept. 12 in Nashville. Old 97’s, Drive by Truckers and Tift Merritt will be joined by other guests during the tribute that will include a screening of Johnny Cash’s only appearance on the Austin City Limits TV series. Other performers at this year’s festival include R.E.M., Al Green, Liz Phair, Dwight Yoakam, String Cheese Incident, Lucinda Williams, Pat Green, Patty Griffin, Steve Winwood, the Mavericks, Shawn Colvin, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Jay Farrar, Los Lobos, Nickel Creek and Asleep at the Wheel. 09/18/03
