Dolly Parton: Wet T-Shirt Contest Costs Extra

Country Icon Drenches Her "Falseness" in Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS

It wasn't exactly like a wet T-shirt contest, but Dolly Parton has joined the growing list of country stars to take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, doing so in her own typically good-natured and fabulous fashion.

Parton filmed her video seated on an outdoor couch and with the help of two of her nieces, Rebecca and Hannah.

"Hello, Dolly here," she began. "Now I'm here to meet the challenge of a lot of people for ALS, for the dunk in water. This was not on my bucket list, if you'll pardon the expression. But a lot of people challenged me.

"Kenny Rogers dared me," she continued. "Kenny said, 'You'll never do it with your false hair, your false eyelashes, your false nails.' Kenny, you'd be surprised at what all I'd do with my falseness for a good cause and a good laugh."

The country legend then introduces her nieces, joking that "they used to love me" and "now they're willing to drown me."

She takes off a few items like her earrings and scarf before the cameraman says, "Oh, you've gotta take off your shoes."

"My shoes are plastic," Parton replies. "But then again, so is the rest of me. That's beside the point!"

She squirmed with anticipation as her nieces added even more ice to the water, and the Country Music Hall of Fame member let out of wail of a scream as the two buckets cascaded over her, ruining that fancy hairdo in the process.

"All right, Dolly, who are you gonna challenge?" asked the cameraman.

"I'm not challenging anybody!" she shrieked.

"And, yes, I am wearing a bra! Kenny, you gotta pay extra for the wet T-shirt contest!"

The challenge has become a phenomenon across the Internet this summer, helping to raise over $88 million for the ALS Association, which raises awareness for the neurodegenerative illness also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Many others in the country music community have already gotten soaked for the cause, like Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, the Zac Brown Band, Tim McGraw and Garth Brooks, just to name a few.
