Campbell Jailed on Drunk Driving, Assault Charges

Glen Campbell was jailed in Phoenix on Monday (Nov. 24), charged with extreme drunken driving, hit and run and assault charges. Campbell's silver BMW struck a white Toyota Camry at an intersection, but instead of stopping, Campbell drove home. Police arrested him there for DUI, his first offense. He also struck the patrol car's door and kicked an officer's thigh with his knee. Another officer indicated Campbell wasn't aiming for the officer's thigh. Campbell also spontaneously sang during his brief jail stay. He went home after posting a $2,000 bond early Tuesday (Nov. 25). To be charged with "extreme drunken driving," the driver's blood alcohol content must be at least 0.15. Arizona's legal limit is 0.08. 11/25/03
