OFFSTAGE: Jason Aldean: "The Whole Thing Cracks Me Up"

(CMT Offstage keeps a 24/7 watch on everything that's happening with country music artists behind the scenes and out of the spotlight.)

Holler if you're with me! 1994 was a great year, right? Well, maybe not for Tonya Harding. But for the most part, good things were happening, and country singer Joe Diffie was one of them. So the fact that Jason Aldean wanted to celebrate that era -- and all of its big hair, break dancing, arcade games, low riders and mobile phones the size of bricks -- just feels right. His new video for his song "1994" features a bunch of his friends, including Luke Bryan, Hayden Panettiere, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, Little Big Town, Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett. "It's really cool that so many of my buddies agreed to come down and have a little fun with us. ... This is the kind of song where you just can't take yourself too seriously," Aldean said in a press release. "There are a lot of ridiculous dance moves, a couple of mullets, some souped-up cars and a lot of other really funny reminders of the mid-90s. ... The whole thing cracks me up." Diffie himself is not in the video, but he does show up on a couple of the dancers' T-shirts.
