Carlene Carter will release Stronger, her first album of new material since 1995, on Yep Roc Records early next year. She wrote all the songs on the album (including one co-write with Mark Winchester) and said she was inspired by her new husband, actor Joseph Breen, whom she married in 2006. The album was originally available only at her shows, but she enlisted John McFee (Doobie Brothers, Southern Pacific) to add some layers of music to it before making it widely available. Carter's hits from the '90s include "I Fell in Love," "Come on Back" and "Every Little Thing." She is the daughter of June Carter Cash and Country Music Hall of Fame member Carl Smith and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash.
