Gabby Barrett Teases Sophomore Album, Asks For Duet Recommendations

Would you like to have a say in Gabby Barrett's next album? The hitmaker is now taking requests on social media.

Saddle up country music fans, because new music from Gabby Barrett is on the horizon.

The platinum-selling artist turned to social media late Wednesday (Sept. 28) evening to give a sneak peek of her highly anticipated sophomore album. The "Strong" singer did not reveal the song's title or incorporated the lyrics within the short sound bite. However, the unreleased track is far from anything we have ever heard from Barrett thus far.

The audio file displayed the intense introduction, stacked with traditional country instruments like the fiddle and the steel guitar. The way the hitmaker intertwined hand claps with heart-thumping percussion, effortlessly turns the melody into a high-energy folk-like banger.

Although Barrett kept additional information under wraps, she confirmed that her second album is in the works and requested for fans to name-drop their favorite artists that they would like to see on the upcoming tracklist.

"Album #2 at work… 😏," Barrett wrote alongside the video. "What do you want to hear? Who do you want a duet with?" she added.

Devoted followers flocked to the comments with recommendations and to praise the electrifying preview.

"Many duet requests, but @mirandalambert, @kelseaballerini, or @carlypearce would be 🔥. I honestly am just hyped for new music 👏," gushed a listener. "It's giving Shania vibes, and I'm loving it," added another. "I already love it," said professional baker Manuela Kjeilen.

As many rattled off notable names, some encouraged Barrett to create music about her daughter Baylah May and her second child on the way. The songstress previously told Celeb Secrets that the forthcoming collection may include a tribute track dedicated to her little one, that she shares with guitarist and husband Cade Foehner

"I'm trying to figure out the theme of what I want it to be. I haven't done that yet. I do know, that I always write music about real-life instances that are going on," the Pennsylvania native told the outlet. "So,  you probably will find a song about a baby in there."

The forthcoming project is slated to follow her record-breaking debut album, "Goldmine." Fan favorites such as "I Hope," "The Good Ones," "Footprints On The Moon," and "Got Me" featuring Shane & Shane have propelled Barrett into the limelight, despite her successful run on "American Idol."

While cultivating the collection, the powerhouse was performing on Jason Aldean's Rock N' Roll Cowboy Tour. The chart-topping artist relatively recently pulled out of select dates to secure the safety of her unborn child. Barrett made the difficult decision, after announcing her pregnancy with her son on Mother's Day.

Travis Tritt, Tracy Lawrence, and Chase Rice have stepped in on the must-see trek. Once Barrett welcomes her baby boy, she will embark on a Kane Brown's nationwide tour next year. She will kick-start the run on March 16 in Grandrapids, MI. For tickets and upcoming appearances, visit gabbybarrett.com.
