Miranda Lambert Makes First Appearance Since Divorce

The Shows Must Go On at Ashley Monroe's Album Release Party

"I'm only wearing my Target dress."

That's what Miranda Lambert said when she took the stage at Ashley Monroe's album release party at The Basement East in Nashville on Wednesday (July 22) night. But really, she was wearing more than that -- bravery, courage, and a very thick skin.

Because this was Lambert's first performance or appearance since the news hit earlier this week that she and Blake Shelton are divorcing after four years. So it was a relief for the country fans and industry friends to see that Lambert was not shying away from the spotlight because of what's going on in her private life.

It was obvious that the duet with Monroe was spontaneous, but Lambert seemed to rise to the occasion. During the event broadcast by Sirius XM, they sang "Heart Like Mine," off Lambert's Revolution album. Lambert and Monroe wrote it together with Travis Howard.

Lambert has her own little unplugged Nashville club appearance scheduled for Tuesday at 3rd and Lindsley, where she'll perform alongside Natalie Hemby, Jessi Alexander, RaeLynn, Clare Dunn and Courtney Cole.

Shelton is staying busy, too. He started filming the new season of The Voice on Wednesday, and this weekend has two concerts in Wisconsin.

Monroe's new album, The Blade, will be released Friday.
