Blake Shelton Chats 2022 Hallmark Christmas Movie "Time for Him to Come Home For Christmas" and New Christmas Music

Blake Shelton: "I said, 'Mom, let's me and you write a song together, and you can sing it with me on my album. And there's your Lucille Ball moment."

No one is going to call Blake Shelton Ebenezer Scrooge.

This holiday season, Shelton released the fifth installment of his popular Christmas movie franchise– "Time for Him to Come Home For Christmas." It comes on the heels of the 2018 debut of the series with "Time for Me To Come Home for Christmas," which is named after a song on his new Christmas album, "Cheers, It's Christmas (Super Deluxe)." Each year since 2018, a new movie in theme with the first came out. "Time for You To Come Home for Christmas," "Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas," and Time for "Them to Come Home for Christmas" complete the yuletide set.

The movie, which debuted on the Hallmark channel on Nov. 26, is now available to watch on www.peacocktv.com. Shelton is an executive producer on the series, which is also linked to his mother, Dorothy Shackleford. Shelton invited her to write and perform a Christmas song with him on "Cheers, It's Christmas (Super Deluxe)." The album featuring the song initially came out in 2012, and Shackleford turned the opportunity into a book deal one year later.

"When I was making my Christmas album, I said, 'Mom, let's me and you write a song together, and you can sing it with me on my album," Shelton said on From Apple Music With Love. "And there's your Lucille Ball moment. You can finally have your moment to be famous. We had no idea it was going to end up turning into a book deal for my mom. "

Then the book turned into a movie series.

"It's amazing what they're able to do over there, but it's been a cool experience to have that with my mom," Shelton said.

The 2022 episode of the series "Time for Him to Come Home For Christmas" follows a young woman named Elizabeth who receives a message on her answering machine from an unknown man who is trying to win back his former love interest. The story follows Elizabeth as she tries to find the man and reunite the lovers while searching for a partner.

Hear the song that inspired the movie series now on "Cheers, It's Christmas (Super Deluxe)." The collection is also home to original song "Cheer For The Elves" with Gwen Stefani, "Up On The House Top," "Holly Jolly Christmas" and "There's a New Kid in Town" featuring Kelly Clarkson.

"During the holidays, I always celebrate traditions and add new things, so cheers to some new music," Shelton said in a statement. "After all, what is Christmas without it? I just want to thank everyone for including my music in your festive playlists all these years. It really is 'the most wonderful time of the year.'"
