CMT Inside Fame: Johnny Cash to Follow

CMT will premiere CMT 40 Greatest Men of Country Music, hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress Megan Mullally (Will & Grace), on March 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The three-hour special will include interviews with artists from various musical genres, entertainers, journalists and music historians, as well as performance footage, historic photos and music. The 40 men were selected by hundreds of performers, music historians, music journalists, and music industry professionals who considered each artist’s body of work and overall contributions to country music.

CMT 40 Greatest Men of Country Musicis the second exclusive documentary in CMT’s “Greatest” series, following the 2002’s CMT 40 Greatest Women of Country Music. More than 7.1 million viewers watched the three-hour special during its premiere weekend. In June 2003, CMT will continue the popular “Greatest” series with CMT 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music.

Following CMT 40 Greatest Men of Country Music, CMT will debut CMT Inside Fame: Johnny Cash, a special 90-minute episode that includes an exclusive interview with Cash at his Jamaica home. Also featured in the in-depth profile are Cash’s wife of 35 years, June Carter Cash, daughter Rosanne Cash and brother Tommy Cash. Other interviews feature Vince Gill, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Rodney Crowell, Brad Paisley, Melissa Etheridge, Dwight Yoakam, Wynonna, Kix Brooks, Ronnie Dunn, Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels and Sheryl Crow. CMT Inside Fame: Johnny Cash airs March 28 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
